Lizette

Born 14 weeks ago, this puppy girl went home to a new family. The family brought their new puppy to the Vet for an eye infection. From what the Vet said, it could be Entropion (rolling) or Distichiasis (excess eye lashes). Both cause similar problems: excessive watery eyes, wanting to rub their eyes, redness, infections, and squinting.

We were asked to help and we have an appointment scheduled with an eye specialist.

Orange Girl

One of our little Yorkie puppies could use your help!

Our Vet, Dr. Miska, was leaning towards a diagnosis of Demodectic Mange, but testing confirmed that she has Ringworm. She is being treated with internal and external medications.

It started out as a tiny scab-like bump from the day we received the 3 puppies. It seemed to get a little better but as the days went on we noticed hair loss. When the kids went in for their second DHPP vaccine and exam, close exam by Dr. Miska got her thinking it much worse than at their first exam. Skin and hair samples were taken and sent out.

Puppies are born with mites. If the puppy's immune system is strong they outgrow it. At this time she has been treated for mites and is on healthy food and vitamins.
